About Us

Make Tanzania Safe

Rapid urbanization and population growth in Tanzania exacerbate waste management and water supply challenges, worsening pollution, biodiversity loss, and climate risks. Urban expansion strains water systems, leaving many communities with insufficient access, while improper waste disposal further pollutes water sources, threatening public health and ecosystems.

To address these pressing issues, Tanzania needs a comprehensive approach that integrates sustainable waste management practices, improved water supply infrastructure, pollution control measures, and climate resilience strategies. By uniting these efforts, Tanzania can mitigate environmental degradation, enhance public health, and build resilience to the impacts of urbanization and climate change, ensuring a more sustainable and prosperous future for its citizens.

Environmental Awareness

MST taught 42 Standard six students at Msasani A Primary School about tree planting and environmental conservation, emphasizing biodiversity preservation and pollution reduction. They adopted the slogan "NAKUWA NA MTI WANGU" (I have my tree) to ensure each student receives and cares for a tree.

Tree Planting

Students were given trees to plant and were entrusted with their care. They actively engaged in identifying various tree species. Out of 42 participants, 34 planted one tree each, and 8 planted two. In total, 50 trees were planted around the school premises to enhance the learning environment.

Outcomes

Pupils gained a deeper understanding of environmental conservation and the urgency of addressing climate change. They also acquired knowledge about cholera prevention and embraced proper hygiene habits. Additionally, the school premises were transformed into a greener environment with the planting of 50 trees, promoting local biodiversity and enhancing aesthetics.

Environmental Awareness

MST created awareness to 37 students of Standard five at Msasani B Primary school on the importance of planting trees and conservation of the environment. Student realized that are responsible of taking care of the environment, however MST formulated a slogan “NAKUWA NA MTI WANGU” so as student each student gets to have a tree and takes care of it

Tree Planting

Students received trees to plant and care for, fostering a sense of responsibility. They actively engaged in identifying tree species, honing their observational skills. With 37 students planting 2 trees each, a total of 74 trees now adorn the school grounds, enriching the learning environment.

Outcome

The project at Msasani B Primary School by MazingiraSmart Tanzania fostered environmental responsibility and hygiene awareness among youth. Through engaging with pupils and teachers, it inspired sustainable living and disease prevention practices. MazingiraSmart Tanzania continues its dedication to promoting environmental stewardship and community resilience.
